Just a little information about who I am and why I have started my own little hobby nursery...
I'm 45 years old - the kids have left home and are doing well without visiting their mother every day - My husband is busy with his farm and then the time has come to carry out a big old dream - a big greenhouse. I'm lucky leaving on a farm with a husband that has a great patience and after a great deal of persuasion he gave up the little field where I would like to place my greenhouse and then it was just a matter if starting the building .
At first it was only my opinion to build a greenhouse for "fun" just for enjoy oneself, but as the building license came I suddenly got the idea of making my own little nursery and the road from idea to starting the nursery was not long. With good help and inspiration from my sister in law who has a herbaceous perennial nursery Staudemarken just nearby my place the nursery Hobby-Fuchsia started up.
The first time with building the greenhouse was awful because we could only work with it in the week-ends because we all had to go to our paid jobs for the working days and there was a lot of stormy weathers this autumn and those storms was blowing as much down in those days where we could not work, so in the following week-ends we had to start repairing and collecting broken glass... but eventually we get hold of it and in December 2001 the greenhouse was finished.
But afterwards there has still been a lot of problems with the greenhouse, such as drip moulding full of water since they has fall the wrong direction, and the results of that was a river of water on the tables in the greenhouse when the rain came so strong that the drip moulding got full, and this winter some glass cracked because the frost pressed the water up against the windows. But after I removed the ends in the drip mouldings the water can get out and that problems is solved -
I'm working in Pandrup at Rohde & Schwarz Technology Center as Project Supporter. It´s a job where I mostly is sitting and because of that it's really nice to come home and use some energy and strings inside and outside the greenhouse.
The fact that it's Fuchsia I'm making in my little nursery is because I have always loved the Fuchsia very much, And since I have had so much pleasure with this plant I really want's that other people also get the chance to learn that the Fuchsia is the most beautiful flower and after my opinion is the Fuchsia a little looked down on and misrepresented as a very difficult flower to take of. Besides that my impression was that a lot of people only know the standard Fuchsia as Beacon Rosa - those that we in Denmark calls A - Z flowers (those types that mostly is sold in warehouses). My wish is to open the eyes for people so that they can learn how many different Fuchsia there is and how different they can be, and at this moment it's seems like that I have already convinced some that the Fuchsia gives a great pleasure for just a little work.
